Daytime activities include touring the historic site, picnicking, and wildlife viewing. Concerts and other events are held frequently throughout the year.
HOURS OF OPERATION AND PARK FEES
The Barnacle is open 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with tours at 10, 11:30 a.m.; 1 and 2:30 p.m. Friday through Monday and for groups by reservation Wednesday and Thursday. The park is closed on Tuesdays, New Year’s, Thanksgiving and Christmas days. Admission to the park is $2.00 per person age 6 and over; under 6 are free.
LOCATION AND PARKING
The entrance is within sight of the Coconut Grove Playhouse. There is no parking available in the park itself, except for those with disabilities. However there is a public parking lot next to the playhouse and street parking throughout the neighborhood.
GUIDED TOURS OF THE BARNACLE
Year-round, Friday-Monday: 10am, 11:30am, 1pm & 2:30pm.
Situated on the shore of Biscayne Bay, The Barnacle Historic State Park features one of the oldest homes in Miami-Dade County in its original location. Home to pioneer boat designer Ralph Middleton Munroe, The Barnacle and surrounding grounds offer visitors a rare glimpse at a bygone era. Group tours available Wednesday and Thursday by advance reservation. The park is closed on Tuesday. Park entrance fee is $2 for everyone age 6 and over; and free to those under age 6. Guided tours fees are $3 for those over age 12 and $1 for those ages 6-12.
YOGA BY THE SEA
Wednesdays, 6 - 7:30 PM
Enjoy a mid-week restorative yoga practice in the Real Florida, in the heart of the Grove. This class, lead by instructor Gabriela Goldbaum, is for all levels and will be held on the grassy front lawn of The Barnacle overlooking Biscayne Bay (in case of rain, class will meet in the Micco Pavilion). Bring a mat, blocks, and a strap.
There is minimal parking inside the park, so car pool if possible and arrive prior to 6 p.m. to ensure that the class begins promptly. Enjoy the peace and tranquility that The Barnacle offers for Yoga by the Sea.
Classes are $13 each which includes park entrance fee.
