The Carriage House
This carriage house was used for many purposes. Like how we would use a garage today, the Munroe family would use this as a space for messier projects. The park manager’s office was once the jelly room, made for preserving local fruits. The upstairs was once an apartment. Long-term guests, like Jessie Munroe’s sister Susie Benton, would live here for extended stays. Today, this space is used as a visitor’s center, while our park manager gets the pleasure of living in the historic apartment upstairs. Inside, you can find a friendly ranger or volunteer to help guide you on what there is to see and do in the park and beyond.
