Visit The Barnacle Historic State Park

Enjoy a special day at our beautiful waterfront State Park. Pack a picnic, bring the pooch, pull up a chair on the shady front porch or spread a blanket under a giant oak tree. You’ll enjoy the same view as Commodore Ralph Munroe did with his family did back in the early 1900s.

Take a tour of the historic house and learn about the unique engineering that makes this home so special, and reflects the history of Coconut Grove and all of South Florida.

Stroll down to the shoreline and view the replicas of Munroe's Marine Railway and his famous sailboat EGRET. Peek into the boathouse and you may see volunteers building a traditional wooden boat.

Join us for one of our special events like a Moonlight Concert or Vintage Car show, or just a fun outing with family and friends. Come back again and again.
